Fractional CFO
A finance leader works with you, part time, while your AI agents keep your numbers current and do the routine finance work. That keeps the cost down, and the time you pay for goes to the budget, cash flow, the board and the decisions.
This is for you if
- You are growing, and the numbers arrive too late to steer by.
- The board or the bank asks for a forecast and a cash plan, and nobody in the company owns them.
- You need a CFO's judgement, but not a full-time CFO.
The agents do the routine work. The CFO does the judgement.
Every task has a clear owner. A person approves what goes into your books or to your board, and the tasks that run on their own are monitored and their results checked.
| Your AI agents | The CFO | Your team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bookkeeping entries | Prepare them as drafts | Sets the rules they follow | Approves them in the accounting system |
| Cash-flow forecast | Update it every week, and show what moved | Reviews it and explains it | Acts on it |
| Month-end report | Drafts it, with a source for every number | Releases it | Reads it |
| Board pack | Drafts it from the books and the budget | Reviews it and presents it | Decides |
| Budget | Runs the what-if questions | Leads the work | Owns the result |
What you leave with
- The result
- A finance function that keeps up with your growth. Led in person by an experienced CFO, run by your AI agents in your own systems.
- Current numbers
- Your AI agents bring the figures from your systems together every night, so decisions rest on this month's numbers.
- A plan that holds
- Budget, cash-flow forecast and procurement plan in one model, updated when reality changes.
- A CFO at the table
- In your company, at your board meetings and in the hard decisions, with someone who has done it before.
What we do, what you do
| We | You |
|---|---|
| Lead the budget, the cash-flow forecast and the financial plan. | Set the goals and make the decisions. |
| Set up your AI agents to prepare entries, reports and forecasts from your systems. | Approve the work that needs a decision, in the systems you already use. |
| Prepare the board reporting and take part in the meetings when needed. | Bring the questions your board and your bank ask. |
| Bring in senior specialists when a task needs more, always agreed with you first. | Stay accountable for your books. |
Worth knowing
Most of what Gathena delivers is finished deployments: AI agents built for a task and run in your systems. The fractional CFO is the same agents with a finance leader added, for companies that also want a finance leader's judgement. Your agents do the routine work, so the retainer pays only for what needs a person: being there, deciding with you and answering to your board. If you later hire a full-time CFO, the agents and their written rules stay with you, and your new CFO starts with current numbers.
What clients say
“Gathena is making our budgeting process more strategic and simple. We have become more agile when things don't go as planned, allowing us to make decisions faster with data.”
Your questions
- How much of your time do we get?
- A few days a month, agreed with you before we start.
- How is it priced?
- A fixed monthly retainer, agreed before we start, because the role needs regular time in your company, in person. The agents' work is part of the setup and never billed by the hour.
- Do we need a finance team?
- No. Many growing companies have a bookkeeper or an external accountant. We work with whoever keeps your books today.
- Where does our data live?
- In your own cloud, and you control access. The AI model runs at the provider you choose.
